(ooc: Sorry, but I’m afraid I can’t help you there! Mun owns the manga so she reads it from there! 8D)
Haha! Sorry, I happen to prefer cow’s milk!

(ooc: That basically sums up all my feelings for that wonderful chapter! Particularly agreeing with the “Akira is the one who is aware they can’t be together forever” part because I remember reading it a second time and was somehow left with a very strange, empty feeling. Might I add that it’s the same kind of feeling I get whenever any of the boys so little as mention anything about their future/graduating. It’s still cute though of course, with all the usual silly Kimiboku-esque humour.
(and now, here is a summary of the ending which I thought was beautifully wrapped up and just ladksjf feelings. everywhere. ;-;b)
Akira kind of fucks up at the end since he had to stand-in for the omiai in place of Kouichi; the poor guy was sick and basically just fainted (out of shock, thanks to Akira, again) right before meeting the girl. The next time he wakes up though, he’s on a bench at the park and Akira hands him a small paper bag with a box of lemon tea. Kind of symbolic in their relationship because we learn from a short flashback in that same chapter where Kouichi is sick at home and his dad called to tell him he won’t be back home due to work (note: his parents had a divorce and at that time, his father still hasn’t re-married yet. Akira also mentions somewhere in the chapter that the reason why he can take such good care of himself is because he didn’t have a mother until his father decided on the remarriage). Akira visits him at his house just to hand him some school printouts and right before he leaves, he hands him his used lemon-scented eraser, telling him that he heard that lemons are good for colds so he’ll lend it to him for now.
Flashbacks and lemons aside though, after giving him the box of tea, Akira also says to him, “If you don’t hurry up and find a good wife, you’ll turn into weak little crybaby Kou-chan again the next time you get sick!”. I absolutely loved the panelling here, especially with Akira kind of stretching his arms and looking upwards into the sky. We don’t get to see his facial expression, and Kouichi is just staring down at the tea in slight surprise. But the following panel we get a close up of Akira’s (really adorable) smile and in return, Kouichi blushes and turns away in embarrassment, telling him, “I won’t, because we’re adults already…”
/end summary
I think it’s also important to note here that the omiai was actually set up by Akira, for Kouichi. Kind of ironic as well, because it always seemed to me that Akira is extremely over-protective and possessive over his Kou-chan (and I mean this on an entirely friendly level, alright). It’s a kind of strange position for Akira to be in I think, especially now that they’ve both reached a certain age and he’s still so dependent on Kouichi for so many things. But I think ultimately, he just wants his bestie to find happiness, to have someone to care for and look after him even though his life will probably be the one to change the most if there was someone else that Kouichi will have to look after once he finally does get married.
ASLDKFJALS sorry this turned out so long and rambly I swear it won’t happen again ;; /just — feelings, so many feelings ;-;
Then why don’t you explain it to me? Maybe I can help you?
Yes, of course I like having you over, but… (you only seem to care about the fact that I’ll clean up after you…) I’m your friend not your personal maid, okay?
It’s okay, I don’t need Kou-chan’s help~

Mmn, got it, got it! (no he doesn’t get it at all) Really, Kou-chan can be such a nagging mother sometimes!

Let’s get together and talk soon, the other muns!(^◡^ )and I don’t mind anybody else who just generally wants to spazz over Kimiboku together bbb)
(ooc: From where mun has read up to (which is Vol.10 of the manga), Akira does not have a love interest unlike the main boys, and neither does Kouichi. I wouldn’t say they’re canon because I doubt Hotta-sensei is going to really give us anything in canon — but, there are plenty enough hints. I wish I could explain it in detail, but I don’t want to sound biased nor do I want to give unnecessary spoilers. But there is this one particular chapter (that the Chinese raws sites don’t seem to have for some reason) where the the panels are drawn particularly ambiguous (e.g. lots of blushing and staring) so — I guess she left it for us to decide for ourselves? Ahaha, they’re canon to me already though. ♥)
